Summary of Action
Connect’eau Réseau addresses the urgent question of unequal water access and how this problem relates to larger global dynamics, particularly as articulated in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The project targets SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and SDG 13 (Climate Action) in particular, with some nodding to SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 14 (Life Below Water).
The initiative is aimed at youth who feel excluded from these global issues or overlooked by mainstream education systems. Fundamentally, the initiative has as its objective to create awareness and foster substantive, long-term engagement by youth.
By bringing people from France and Morocco together, it establishes an environment for mutual learning, artistic expression, and intercultural exchange on water as its theme.
Key objectives:
- Raising awareness for 270 high school students through interactive awareness sessions;
- Engaging 15 youth participants through workshops and a cultural exchange;
- Realizing the “Crossed Views: Water in Our Daily Lives” photo exhibition, co-produced and shared by both countries, showcasing personal and collective visions;
- Facilitating the establishment of a youth-led junior association to ensure ongoing engagement once the project is over.
The activities include educational workshops based on interactive tools (such as Kamishibai), an entire week-long camp at Base Nature Vercors, and media projects such as photography and podcasts. Issues that concern gender in reference to water are addressed directly with an assurance of equal participation and representation.
Ultimately, the initiative equips youth with the confidence and tools to speak out, connect over borders, and act as active citizens.
