From Soil to Plate

Summary of Action

We simply want to take up the challenge of sustainable food together. By sustainable food, we mean healthy and local food, food accessible to all, food that remains the basis of a strengthened social bond between producers and consumers, and between consumers: Eating together as much as acting together in order to eat better.

Our project addresses the issues of food sovereignty and the right for all to access this sustainable food through large-scale, reproducible, and complementary experiments:

• The experiment of the “Shared Gardens of Brivadois” as an extension of the solidarity restaurant that our association has set up since January 2023. Shared gardens are gardens created or run collectively, with the aim of developing local social ties through social, cultural, or educational activities and accessible to the public. (Law of October 14, 2003 – Art. L. 561-1)
• The establishment of a local Social Security fund for Food as an extension of the reflection around this national approach, which aims to allow the most precarious people to access sustainable food while getting involved in the organization of actions related to this food.
• Information and awareness-raising actions around sustainable food issues leading to a sustainable commitment.

We want to go beyond the simple question of information and exchanges to move together toward the construction of concrete and sustainable solutions in equal access to healthy food. Thanks to the establishment of our collective workshops, citizen mobilization must lead to the creation of a structure that will perpetuate these experiments.
