Summary of Action

The project aims to empower young people aged 15 to 30, as well as individuals less aware of climate issues, particularly those related to water and river management. Over a period of 15 months, the project will use the tool called ”Fresques du Fleuve” as a key tool to explore the links between water resources, social justice, and environmental sustainability. Participants from high school, university, and civic service volunteers in Drôme-Ardèche will follow a program involving workshops around the fresque du fleuve, creative writing sessions, and the co-production of a radio program. This will result in a political request presented to local political figures. These activities will encourage critical thinking on global river management challenges and inspire participants to take action. Additionally, in collaboration with ADOS Senegal and local partners in the Matam region, we will co-create the ”Fresque du Fleuve Sénégal,” reflecting the local climate challenges and incorporating the voices of affected communities. The project aims to guide young people from awareness to active engagement, transforming them from observers to engaged or militant citizens. Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, this project will empower youth and encourage the dialogue between youth and political leaders allowing them to contribute to a more inclusive, equal, and sustainable world.
