Summary of Action

With The Global Challenge Planète, we aim to pilot an enriched version of our annual global citizenship education program with several CM1-CM2 classes in the Rhône region, with the ambition to scale it up across mainland France.

The program is designed to raise awareness of sustainable development goals among students and their teachers, and empower them to take action through concrete local actions and a global perspective.

Each class selects a thematic pathway—Nature, Climate, or Well-being & Solidarity—and receives structured support throughout the school year:

• Two in-class workshops based on films produced in 13 countries;
• An individual follow-up book;
• Co-led project planning sessions;
• Access to a digital platform with 40 audiovisual tools and educational resources;
• A meeting with an inspiring expert;
• An intercultural exchange with youth from the Global South.

The program equips both students and teachers with essential skills: understanding global issues, project planning, collaborative work, and community engagement. It promotes an active, joyful, and inclusive pedagogy that encourages autonomy, critical thinking, empathy, and long-term commitment.

By integrating intercultural exchanges with youth from the Global South, The Global Challenge Planète also highlights stories and actions from other parts of the world, building bridges between young people across continents. The project fosters an open, active, and inclusive form of citizenship, giving every child, from an early age, the means to become changemakers.
