Belgian and Palestinian Youth Expose Belgian Support for War Crimes
General information
Project name: Belgische en Palestijnse jongeren ontmaskeren Belgische steun aan oorlogsmisdaden
Country: Belgium
Timeline: From 5 January 2026 to 1 February 2027
Lead Organisation: Vredesactie vzw
Summary of Action
This project strengthens the capacity of young activists to investigate and expose hidden systems behind war, human rights violations, and environmental harm. It responds to a growing demand among youth in Belgium for practical tools to critically analyse and challenge these global issues.
Through a series of intensive training sessions, a core group of participants develops investigative skills and learns how to uncover complex relationships between companies, governments, and global conflicts. These skills are then translated into accessible manuals, enabling a wider group of young activists to apply similar methods.
In a second phase, participants apply their knowledge to a concrete research case focused on the role of Belgian actors in international conflicts. Working collaboratively, they conduct research, analyse findings, and translate their work into public-facing outputs.
The project is carried out in close partnership with Handala, an organisation of primarily Palestinian youth based in Belgium. This collaboration strengthens intercultural exchange, connects local activism with global realities, and brings in valuable expertise and networks.
By publishing research findings and organising public actions, the project aims to influence public awareness and political debate. It empowers young people to take an active role in promoting accountability, justice, and peace at both local and global levels.
