Brain Trippers
General information
Project name: Brain Trippers
Country: Belgium
Timeline: From 1 August 2026 to 28 February 2027
Lead Organisation: Kapow
Summary of Action
“Brain Trippers” engages young people in rural West Coast Belgium with the realities of climate change and biodiversity loss—issues that directly affect their environment, often without them being fully aware of it.
Through a diverse mix of creative and interactive methods, the project guides participants from initial awareness to active engagement. Activities include Talkaoke sessions in public spaces, workshops in schools, and participatory events that encourage dialogue, reflection, and exchange across differences.
As the project progresses, a core group of motivated young participants—“the Brain Trippers”—is formed. Supported by experienced mentors, they take ownership of the project by designing and organising the first-ever Brain Trip Festival, focused on sustainability and environmental awareness.
The project uses a wide range of media and creative approaches to make complex topics accessible and relevant. It encourages young people to reflect on their own role in addressing environmental challenges and to engage with others in meaningful ways.
By combining learning, creativity, and action, “Brain Trippers” aims to spark a lasting commitment among young people to climate and biodiversity issues. It empowers them to shape their own future and contribute to more sustainable communities.
