Change The Game
General information
Project name: Change The Game
Country: Belgium
Timeline: From 1 April 2025 to 31 October 2025
Lead Organisation: La Trendy (Asbl)
Summary of Action
The project addresses the global challenges of inequality, limited access to education, and social disengagement, particularly among youth. It seeks to bridge the gap between young people in Europe and those in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), fostering mutual understanding and solidarity through sports, education, and cultural exchange.
The purpose of the action is to empower youth by enhancing their critical understanding of global issues and encouraging their active engagement. By connecting young Europeans with their Congolese peers, the project aims to inspire a collective sense of responsibility for building a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable world.
The intended results include increased awareness and critical thinking about global challenges, stronger intercultural ties, and the development of youth leadership and solidarity. The project also aims to produce lasting educational content and a documentary, serving as a resource for future initiatives.
The project is structured into three key phases:
- Education and Awareness: Workshops, podcasts, videos, and articles are created to educate participants on global development issues and foster critical thinking.
- Intercultural Exchange through Basketball: A tournament in Kinshasa brings together young people from Belgium and the DRC, promoting teamwork, understanding, and solidarity.
- Impact Documentation: A documentary and follow-up workshops capture and share the project’s outcomes, ensuring its sustainability and wider reach.
Through these activities, the project connects local and global perspectives, empowering young people to become active agents of change in their communities and beyond.
