Summary of Action
The Núria Social Association co-created the Balkar initiative in 2022, dedicated to connecting rural communities around the world and fostering bonds and capacities to address the systemic crisis through education and culture.
With a decolonial, intersectional, and transrural perspective, it tackles common challenges in the Global North and South, such as youth exodus, precarity, gender oppression, gentrification, social polarization, and hate speech.
It specializes in creating spaces for depolarization, reconciliation, and regeneration, promoting a new paradigm of community and territorial resilience to confront the structural violence affecting rural areas.
Ecos de Balkar seeks to launch a communication strategy that has so far been unattainable, but is essential. This strategy is based on creating transformative content, collecting and amplifying an urgent message: the voices from the margins and regenerative narratives that express the diversity and synergies of ruralities in both the Global North and South.
These voices are expected to offer hopeful and disruptive responses to the complex challenges we face today.
The activity will take shape through the production of a series of 10 community podcasts, co-created participatively with key stakeholders. These will be disseminated via a transformative communication campaign, publicly presented at cultural events, and accompanied by a listening guide as educational material made available to various organizations and associations.
The target audience includes individuals with a feeling of rural belonging, young people, women, members of the LGTBIQ+ community, and vulnerable individuals born in or residing in rural areas.
