General information
Project name: Epistle Audiovisual Ebre – Trarza: Young People for Social and Climate Justice

Lead Organisation: Associació Nadir Audiovisual i Educació
Summary of Action
This action addresses the global issue of climate change, highlighting its unequal impacts on rural communities in deltaic regions of both the Global South and North. While the Global North is a major contributor to climate change, its devastating effects are most felt in the Global South, particularly in regions like Trarza, Mauritania, where agriculture is severely impacted. Similarly, the Terres de l’Ebre in Catalonia faces rising sea levels and land erosion, threatening local livelihoods. These shared challenges provide a rich opportunity for youth from both regions to engage in dialogue and storytelling.
The purpose of this action is to empower 60 young people (50% women) from Terres de l’Ebre and Trarza to explore the local and global dimensions of climate change through a transformative communication approach and eco-feminist perspective. This will foster critical thinking, intercultural exchange, and action-driven narratives.
Activities include audiovisual workshops to teach technical skills and encourage narrative creation through ecofeminist and justice perspectives, cross-regional audiovisual exchanges where participants share their experiences and respond to each other’s realities, collaborative production of a documentary uniting youth voices from both communities, and publication of journalistic articles in El País – Planeta Futuro and Diari Ara, with wider dissemination via festivals, media, and social media platforms.
This action will create long-lasting connections, raise awareness, and inspire action on climate change, combining journalism, education, and transformative communication to amplify the voices of marginalized youth.
