Summary of Action

This project critically examines the global drug policy framework and its consequences, particularly in Latin America. It highlights how prohibitionist approaches have contributed to human rights violations, social inequalities, and structural violence, especially affecting vulnerable communities involved in production and consumption.

Rather than focusing on substances themselves, the project shifts attention to the broader political and economic systems that shape the global drug trade. It challenges dominant narratives that place blame on producers and users, and instead explores the deeper structural causes behind violence and inequality.

At the center of the project is the production of an in-depth audiovisual report. This documentary aims to present a well-researched and critical perspective on the impacts of current policies, while also exploring alternative approaches based on regulation and harm reduction. The report is intended for a wide audience and seeks to stimulate informed public debate.

In addition, the project includes investigative journalism, with articles published in independent media platforms, as well as a European tour of screenings and discussions. These events create spaces for dialogue between citizens, policymakers, and experts, encouraging reflection on more just and effective policy approaches.

Through strategic partnerships with international organisations, researchers, and activists, the project brings together diverse perspectives from both the Global South and North. Grounded in feminist and anti-racist approaches, it aims to contribute to a broader shift toward policies that prioritize human rights, social justice, and public health.
