Summary of Action
The project aims to involve EU citizens in defending the sexual and reproductive rights (SRR) of women and LGBTIQ+ individuals, as well as in the fight against sexual violence. Inspired by the experiences of organizations in Guatemala and Honduras, it aims to promote collective imaginaries that impulse social and youth participation in the face of anti-feminist and anti-rights discourses. This will be done by making visible and learning from the proposals these organizations have to defend SRHR and address sexual violence through feminist, anti-racist and community narratives and actions.
The objective will be achieved through two results:
- R1 – Promoting awareness and action to defend SRR and the fight against sexual violence.
- R2 – Learning and strengthening through the exchange of experiences between young people from the global South and North.
To achieve this, a journalistic project will be carried out, with dissemination in Latin America, Catalonia, and Spain, which includes a report published in various media and a series of podcasts. In addition, there will be an encounter between young people to confront anti-gender discourses and violations of SRR, through workshops in universities and youth spaces, where young people from Guatemala and Honduras will share their experiences and proposals for training and raising awareness of adolescents and young people. Together, these activities will promote the defense of sexual and reproductive rights, contributing to the eradication of sexual violence and promoting equality.
