Global Ambassadors engage students in climate, gender, and development cooperation
General information
Project name: Globale Ambassadører engagerer studerende i klima, køn og udviklingssamarbejdet
Country: Denmark
Timeline: From 1 November 2025 to 31 December 2026
Lead Organisation: Dansk International Bosætningsservice (DIB)
Summary of Action
The purpose of the project is to engage students at various higher education institutions in global development through peer-to-peer learning with young volunteers and former student interns at DIB (as Global Ambassadors) and foreign partners.
The Global Ambassadors are built up in capacity for engagement work and in communicating about development cooperation to students. They develop teaching material in collaboration with DIB, Kijani (Tanzania), and CHILDREN-Nepal (CN), which is offered at various higher education institutions.
Through a focused workshop with local context-based case material from the South and with peers as teachers, and access to NGOs in the North and South, the target group of students gains:
- A critical understanding of global development and the global South;
- Inspiration and knowledge to become a volunteer in civil society;
- Encouragement to seek a student internship or otherwise engage in global development.
