Summary of Action

“Strength and Hope in Communities: From Syria to Denmark” aims to deepen public understanding in Denmark of the humanitarian situation in Syria while encouraging continued engagement with global solidarity and humanitarian support.

At the heart of the project are photographs by photojournalist Mikkel Hørlyck, captured during a documentary trip in 2025. These images portray the everyday lives, resilience, and hope of people in Syria, offering a human perspective on complex global challenges.

The project engages Danish photo club members as active participants. Through workshops, dialogue, and creative assignments, they become co-creators of exhibitions that combine their own work with the photographs from Syria. This approach brings global issues closer to local communities and fosters a personal connection to the stories being shared.

Public exhibitions in four Danish cities will showcase this collaborative work, creating spaces for reflection, dialogue, and increased awareness. A workshop in Syria further enriches the project by incorporating perspectives from Syrian participants, strengthening the cross-cultural exchange.

By combining artistic storytelling with active participation and international collaboration, the project seeks to inspire empathy, deepen understanding, and motivate individuals to remain engaged in humanitarian efforts.
