Sustainable Development Goals Workshop at Danish Efterschools
General information
Project name: Verdensmålsworkshop på efterskoler
Country: Denmark
Timeline: From 15 February 2026 to 1 April 2027
Lead Organisation: Den Danske Helsinki-Komité for Menneskerettigheder
Summary of Action
Den Danske Helsinki-Komité is creating a workshop that engages Danish secondary school students in questions of democracy, identity, and the future of Europe.
With the help of the committee, two journalists collect documentary material in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia, where they interview researchers, young people, activists—and also voices that deny or challenge the narrative of war crimes.
The Balkans are used as a case to understand a larger global development, where developing countries outside the EU are orienting themselves toward new alliances with, among others, Russia and China, which challenges the role of the EU.
The material is translated into an engaging workshop with authentic stories, dilemma exercises, and student productions. The course is tested at five secondary schools and subsequently disseminated through the Secondary School Association.
The project strengthens young people’s critical sense, gives them the courage to take a stand, and makes them active citizens in a time of sharp historical and political conflicts.
