World Up Close: Moldova

Summary of Action

The project World Up Close: Moldova strengthens Danes’ knowledge, critical understanding, and meaningful engagement in global development issues by using Moldova as a case.

The starting point is the increasing polarisation and tension between democratic and autocratic systems, which affect the solution of global challenges such as climate, inequality, and public health.

The story unfolds in three documentary broadcasts on DK4 and 10 videos on social media, which together reach two overlapping 45+ target groups:

• TV viewers with an interest in culture and society;
• Citizens who rarely seek out global knowledge and are often skeptical of EU enlargement.

The content is tied together by three viewer workshops in Copenhagen, Odense, and Aalborg, where clips form the basis for conversation, Q&A with guests from Moldova, and simple exercises that help participants translate insight into action.

The ambition is that citizens move up the engagement pyramid from awareness to critical understanding and further to concrete participation in communities and initiatives.
