Summary of Action
The project Youth Hope and Action for Gender Equality at Talk Town Festival 2026 engages high school students in the global fight for gender equality. Based on the setbacks we see for the rights of women, girls, and minorities, the project connects global experiences with the students’ everyday lives.
Through workshops, the students meet international feminist and LGBTQIA+ activists and are trained by Talerskolen Røst in rhetoric and storytelling. The students create their own communication products such as articles, poems, or prose, which are finally presented at Talk Town Festival 2026.
The project strengthens the young people’s critical understanding, courage, and action, and gives them concrete tools to translate knowledge into communication. In this way, they move from spectators to active communicators and change agents who can inspire other young people to engage in issues of gender, gender equality, and rights both locally and globally.
