General information

Timeline: From 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026

Summary of Action
This project addresses two closely linked challenges: the declining participation of young adults in democratic processes and the limited awareness of sustainable development among University of Applied Sciences (UAS) students in Finland.
By focusing on a large but often under-engaged group of 178,000 students, the initiative aims to strengthen their sense of agency, critical understanding, and active participation in issues such as climate justice, gender equality, and inclusive governance.
The project combines a wide-reaching national communication campaign with targeted educational activities. At least 20,000 students will be reached through digital outreach, while 500 students will participate more deeply through training, workshops, and interactive learning experiences designed to move them from awareness to active engagement.
Participants will co-create reusable learning materials on democracy, equality, and climate justice. The project also fosters collaboration with international partners, including the Global Student Forum, ensuring that perspectives from the Global South are integrated into the learning process.
Through webinars, workshops, and a dynamic social media campaign on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, the project amplifies diverse voices and encourages meaningful participation. In doing so, it contributes to building a more inclusive, informed, and engaged generation of changemakers.
