Summary of Action

The project “Cities that Change the World” emerges from collaboration between local organisations and the Umbria Development Cooperation Network, reflecting a collective regional response to the global challenge of climate change.

On one hand, the initiative strengthens the local NGO community by creating spaces for shared learning, collaboration, and innovation. It supports the development of a common framework, including a co-designed toolkit—also using digital tools and artificial intelligence—to enhance educational work on Global Citizenship and the 2030 Agenda.

On the other hand, the project actively engages young people and individuals who are less familiar with global challenges. Through participatory Global Citizenship Education pathways, workshops, and urban challenges, participants are encouraged to explore and develop concrete local solutions to global issues.

These activities foster critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration, helping participants connect global dynamics with their local context. The project promotes a more inclusive and participatory approach to sustainability and civic engagement.

The journey concludes with a large Global Citizenship Festival, bringing together ideas, experiences, and people. This final event showcases a region that is more aware, more connected, and better equipped to act collectively for a sustainable future.
