Summary of Action
The “Equalizer: Youth Activism for Gender Equality” project addresses the need to strengthen gender equality and youth empowerment in Italy and Egypt. It responds to the challenge of transforming young people’s interest in social issues into concrete and sustained civic engagement.
The initiative aims to promote Sustainable Development Goal 5 by increasing awareness and encouraging activism among young people aged 15–30. It supports participants in becoming active agents of change while fostering intercultural dialogue and exploring gender issues from different perspectives.
To achieve this, the project uses creative and participatory methods. Young people act as co-designers and facilitators, engaging in interactive art workshops, psychodrama sessions, and the co-creation of a board game focused on gender equality. Additional activities include organising flash mobs and producing podcasts, videos, and artistic performances to reach wider audiences.
The project aims to develop a new generation of young leaders equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to drive positive change. Beyond direct participants, it seeks to inspire broader communities, contributing to a more equal society and strengthening youth-led activism.
