Summary of Action
“PIOS for Global Change!” builds on the insights and networks developed through the project “Comunità&Inclusione” to tackle social isolation, limited access to services, and barriers to participation faced by migrant-background women and young people in Piossasco.
These obstacles are not only individual—linked to linguistic, cultural, and family constraints—but also structural, since local opportunities and services often lack inclusive approaches.
The project promotes inclusion, intercultural dialogue, and the reduction of the gender gap, engaging women—particularly from the Maghreb—in empowerment pathways, practical workshops, and co-designed activities within and outside the Community Hub.
Beneficiaries progress along the Pyramid of Engagement, from spectators to followers, and then co-creators, acquiring tools to act more confidently in society and to co-design inclusive cultural events.
Young people—including those of II and III generation—play a key role in ensuring a transformative approach, as their participation helps shift community dynamics. Trained in narrative change and inclusive communication, they foster peer engagement, mobilizing other young people, while women themselves share learning and practices in peer education, reinforcing mutual support and collective agency.
Through communication and events, the project will also reach Piossasco’s residents, local institutions, associations, and businesses, creating a ripple effect that strengthens inclusion, intercultural dialogue, and sustainable civic participation (contributing to the achievement of SDG5 and SDG11).
By combining empowerment, co-creation, and narrative change, PIOS for Global Change! aims to build a more inclusive, aware, and cohesive community capable of generating lasting change.
