Summary of Action
“Climate-Connect: Act Locally – Think Globally” addresses the need for better understanding of resource consumption and climate change by developing innovative and interactive educational tools for different age groups. The project focuses on strengthening awareness and encouraging practical action on environmental challenges.
The initiative targets schools, kindergartens, and communities in Latvia and Colombia, creating a bridge between local experiences and global perspectives. By connecting these contexts, the project highlights how environmental challenges and solutions are shared across regions.
A central element of the project is the development of two key outputs: a multilingual educational video on environmental sustainability and a board or digital game focused on climate change and solutions for environmental preservation. These tools are designed to remain in use beyond the project period, ensuring lasting impact.
Participants are actively involved through a series of hands-on activities, including creative workshops on reuse and waste reduction, as well as an “Environmental Innovation Laboratory” where young people collaborate with experts to co-create the game. This approach transforms participants from passive learners into active contributors.
The project concludes with a final conference where results and experiences are shared with NGOs, municipalities, and the wider public. By combining education, creativity, and international exchange, the project strengthens critical understanding and supports meaningful engagement with climate action at both local and global levels.
