Summary of Action
“Creator–Doer” is a leadership and empowerment programme that supports young women in becoming active changemakers through community art and creative expression. The project creates a space where participants can explore global challenges through personal stories, shared experiences, and collective action.
The project brings together young women from Latvia and women from Southeast Asia, particularly Sri Lanka, who are living in Latvia. This exchange creates a meaningful dialogue between local and global perspectives, making issues such as gender inequality, labour market challenges, and social expectations more tangible and relatable.
Through community art methods, participants are encouraged to express their ideas, build confidence, and develop their voice. Creative processes are combined with practical skills such as project planning, coordination, and networking, helping participants move from ideas to real initiatives within their communities.
The project also connects these personal experiences to broader societal discussions, including debates on women’s rights and equality in Europe. This allows participants to reflect critically on democracy, human rights, and their own role in shaping a more inclusive society.
By guiding participants along a path from engagement to action, “Creator–Doer” fosters long-term impact. Participants not only gain knowledge and skills, but also become advocates, multipliers, and, over time, innovators who contribute to positive change in their communities and beyond.
