Summary of Action

“Atbalsts ģimenēm” has 18 years of experience and has implemented over 100 initiatives focusing on the education and development of families, youth, and local communities. The association has a stable administrative and financial capacity that ensures effective project management, resource allocation, and monitoring.

The Problem: In remote border areas like Omuli, there is limited access to information and resources, which hinders community engagement and youth knowledge about sustainable solutions, particularly renewable energy.

The Objective: The project aims to educate and empower youth and communities by increasing their understanding of renewable energy and providing practical tools for sustainable development.

Activities: Youth Engagement: Group research, presentations, international expert experience-sharing sessions, and educational excursions to renewable energy facilities in Latvia. Community and Technical School Collaboration: Valmiera Technical School students will propose solutions for transforming the association’s building into a smart house using renewable energy. Final Event: Participants will present their results, and experts will provide recommendations for implementing sustainable solutions.

Expected Results: The project will increase the critical awareness and practical skills of youth and community members, fostering active participation in sustainable development initiatives. The activities will lay the groundwork for establishing an energy community in Omuli and contribute to long-term community growth by linking local actions with global challenges.
