Summary of Action
The project “Equal Work – Equal Pay?” focuses on strengthening awareness and active engagement around gender equality, with a specific emphasis on the gender pay gap as both a global and locally relevant issue in Latvia.
It is designed as a step-by-step participation journey, guiding participants from initial awareness to active involvement. Through discussions, meetings, and public events, participants gradually build knowledge, reflect critically on inequality, and develop the confidence to take action.
Activities include interactive discussions on the Sustainable Development Goals, public events such as the annual Rose Day in March, and a conference in October. Collaboration with international Zonta partners ensures that participants engage with both local realities and global perspectives on gender equality.
A strong focus is placed on developing participants’ analytical and communication skills. They learn to interpret data, challenge stereotypes, articulate their views, and identify concrete ways to promote equality in their own communities.
By the end of the project, participants are expected to take on active roles: some becoming advocates for change, others acting as multipliers who continue to spread awareness and inspire action. In this way, the project contributes to building a more equal and inclusive society, driven by informed and engaged citizens.
