Summary of Action
The project addresses the issue of limited youth engagement in civic activities at the local government level, which hinders the development of inclusive, equitable, and sustainable communities. In particular, it focuses on the youth of Sigulda Municipality (Latvia) and Rustavi City (Georgia), aiming to inspire and empower them to become active participants in their local communities. The purpose of the action is to enhance youth understanding of civic participation opportunities, equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge, and foster collaboration between Latvian and Georgian youth.
By doing so, the project seeks to promote shared responsibility and create actionable solutions to local and global challenges. The intended results include increased awareness of civic engagement among youth, actionable recommendations for local governments to improve youth involvement, and a sustainable collaboration framework between the two regions. Additionally, the project will produce a joint report documenting findings and practical proposals.
Key activities include study visits to Latvia and Georgia, where youth will engage in workshops, discussions with local authorities, and peer-to-peer learning. These will be followed by online working groups to analyze challenges and co-create solutions. The project concludes with the publication of a comprehensive report and dissemination of results through an online platform, ensuring long-term impact and replicability. This action directly contributes to building more resilient communities by empowering youth to take an active role in shaping their local environments and addressing global issues.
