Summary of Action

The “Global Challenges Hackathon” engages young people in developing practical solutions to complex global issues such as climate change, inequality, and sustainable development. It focuses on transforming participants from passive observers into active problem-solvers through hands-on collaboration.

The project targets young people aged 15 to 30, including those who are less involved in global issues. Through a structured hackathon process, participants work in teams to analyse real-world challenges and co-create innovative solutions.

A key feature of the project is its strong collaboration with partners from the Global South. These partners contribute by identifying real challenges, providing mentorship, and sharing first-hand perspectives, ensuring that the solutions developed are grounded in real needs and global realities.

The project includes preparatory training sessions, a hybrid hackathon event, mentoring throughout the process, and follow-up support to help teams refine their ideas. Participants will develop prototypes and practical implementation plans, which are presented during a final demo session.

By combining innovation, collaboration, and intercultural exchange, the project strengthens global partnerships and equips young people with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive world.
