Summary of Action

The project “Global Challenges – Local Solutions” focuses on strengthening global competence and improving communication between educators and newly arrived residents in Latvia. It promotes inclusive dialogue and mutual understanding, particularly involving people from the Global South.

The project begins by identifying key communication and learning challenges through surveys and consultations with around 100 newcomers and 20 educators. This ensures that the activities respond directly to real needs and experiences.

Based on these insights, two Dialogue Circles will be organised. These sessions bring together educators and newcomers to explore intercultural communication, reflect on differences, and share good practices. Participants work collaboratively to identify practical solutions for more inclusive and effective learning environments.

The recommendations developed during these exchanges will be integrated into the organisation’s language and integration training programmes. They will also be shared more widely with educators and the public, helping to spread knowledge and inspire further dialogue.

Through continuous communication and awareness-raising, the project highlights the diversity and relevance of global challenges while showcasing positive examples of cooperation. As a result, both educators and participants strengthen their global competence, contributing to a more inclusive, informed, and engaged society.
