Summary of Action
The project “HumanRights.info” responds to the growing impact of global challenges—such as armed conflict, climate change, democratic decline, and inequality—on human rights in Latvia. It aims to strengthen a deeper and more practical understanding of human rights, especially among young people.
At the heart of the project is the digital platform Cilvēktiesības.info, where young people actively contribute as content creators. Instead of only receiving information, they take on roles as authors, reporters, and interviewers, developing critical thinking and analytical skills while exploring how global processes affect local realities.
Through regular content production, participants create articles, interviews, and analyses that make human rights issues more accessible and relevant. Their work helps build a more structured understanding of human rights and encourages others to engage with these topics.
The project also brings in perspectives from Eastern Partnership countries, offering first-hand insights into human rights challenges in contexts of conflict and political instability. This global dimension strengthens intercultural understanding and highlights the interconnected nature of today’s challenges.
By combining participation, communication, and reflection, the project supports a shift from passive awareness to active civic engagement. Young people become more informed, responsible, and involved in shaping discussions around human rights in their communities.
