Summary of Action

“LV-UG Youth-Camera-Action” empowers young people to explore and communicate global challenges through storytelling, media creation, and intercultural dialogue. The project focuses on strengthening critical thinking, civic engagement, and participation among youth aged 16 to 25 in Tukums.

At the heart of the project is a co-creation process in which young people develop skills in interviewing, media literacy, and storytelling. By working on real-life topics connected to sustainable development, participants deepen their understanding of global issues such as responsible consumption and sustainable communities.

The project brings together perspectives from Latvia and Uganda through collaboration with the organisation Rwenzori Community Cares and creative director Bwambale Allan. This partnership enables young people to engage with diverse experiences and better understand global interconnections, while reducing stereotypes and fostering mutual respect.

Participants will create and share interviews, discussions, and digital stories that reflect their own views and the voices of their peers. These outputs will be made accessible online, ensuring that the insights and experiences reach a wider audience.

By combining creative expression with critical reflection, the project supports young people in becoming active contributors to society. It encourages them to take ownership of global challenges and to engage in meaningful dialogue across cultures.
