Summary of Action
The project addresses the problem that many young people, especially from remote regions of Latvia, lack information about opportunities for personal growth and the importance of volunteering. As a result, they often do not participate in civic engagement activities. This lack of information and motivation limits their personal and professional development and hinders overall community involvement and cohesion.
The goal of the project is to train and support 24 youth ambassadors from all regions of Latvia so that they become sources of knowledge and inspiration in their communities. Through school visits and interactive activities, the ambassadors will inform more than 900 students about youth centres, international exchange programmes, volunteering, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a special focus on the importance of quality education.
The main project activities include the selection of ambassadors, a four-day training course, school visits, a mentoring programme, and a closing event. During the training, ambassadors will develop leadership, public speaking, and critical thinking skills. During the school visits, they will deliver inspiring presentations and lead interactive activities for students.
The closing event will evaluate the project’s impact, the growth and results of the ambassadors, and will also develop recommendations for future activities. As a result, the project will promote youth civic participation, improve their awareness of available opportunities, and create a sustainable platform that will continue to inspire and engage young people beyond the project’s completion.
