Summary of Action
“Youth Power: Experience. Ideas. Action.” engages young people in understanding and addressing global poverty through practical, experience-based learning. The project focuses on empowering youth aged 13 to 25 to move from awareness to active participation in humanitarian action.
The project begins with an international exchange visit to Moldova, where representatives of ADRA Latvia connect with local organisations and young people working on poverty reduction. This exchange provides first-hand insights into global challenges and encourages mutual learning.
Building on this experience, a group of young participants takes part in a series of workshops during a youth summer camp in Latvia. Through non-formal education methods, they explore the causes and consequences of poverty, both globally and locally, and develop their own ideas for action.
Participants are encouraged to translate their learning into concrete initiatives and share their perspectives through communication activities. By creating and disseminating their own content, they help raise awareness and inspire others to engage with global challenges.
Through this process, young people strengthen their understanding of global interdependence, develop a sense of shared responsibility, and become active promoters of solidarity and humanitarian action within their communities.
