Diversity Connections
General information
Project name: Įvairovės jungtys
Country: Lithuania
Timeline: From 2 February 2026 to 1 February 2027
Lead Organisation: Įvairovės edukacijos namai
Summary of Action
Problem addressed: Across Europe, including Lithuania, young people are increasingly exposed to misleading, radical, and antifeminist narratives spreading through social media. These movements have become attractive identity spaces, especially for those who feel marginalized or unheard. Such online discourses strengthen gender stereotypes, normalize intolerance, and hinder the creation of an inclusive, respectful society. Many young people lack the critical thinking skills to evaluate these narratives, identify manipulative content, and respond constructively to social polarization.
Project goal: The “Diversity Connections” project aims to strengthen young people’s critical thinking, emotional literacy, and conscious understanding of gender equality, diversity, and sexuality. The initiative encourages open dialogue about gender roles and relationships, helping participants see equality not as confrontation but as a shared value of mutual respect. The project supports the objectives of “Connect for Global Change”, fostering civic engagement, social responsibility, and democratic participation among youth.
Expected results: Participants will learn to recognize stereotypes, resist radicalization, and engage in constructive public dialogue. They will enhance their confidence, empathy, and communication skills. The created outputs—podcasts, articles, and a final conference—will inspire broader reflection and raise public awareness of equality and inclusion. Approximately 45 young people will take part directly, while over 3,000 others will be reached indirectly through online dissemination.
Planned activities: Three long-term educational group cycles (eight sessions each), three podcast episodes on diverse masculinities, a closing public conference, and a social media outreach campaign. These activities will empower youth to become proactive changemakers in their communities and across Europe.
