EPA – Emotional Support Ambassadors

General information

Project name: EPA – emocinės paramos ambasadoriai
Country: Lithuania
Timeline: From 2 February 2026 to 1 February 2027
Lead Organisation: Viešoji įstaiga „Mėlynas mėnulis“

Summary of Action

The project “EPA – Emotional Support Ambassadors” aims to strengthen young people’s emotional literacy and encourage community engagement while reducing mental health stigma and gender stereotypes. Youth in Šiauliai city and region often face emotional challenges but lack the skills to recognize needs, seek help, or support peers. This is reinforced by social norms limiting self-expression and sensitivity, especially among boys.

The project’s goal is to empower 25–30 young people to become emotional support ambassadors in their schools and communities, developing empathy, emotional support, critical thinking, and leadership skills.

Activities will include:

  • Information campaign and introductory sessions to present the project idea and participation opportunities;
  • Training and creative workshops to strengthen empathy and emotional support skills;
  • Coordination meetings and youth-led activities for planning and implementing small-scale community initiatives;
  • Final reflection event to share experiences and present results.

Expected results: Two introductory sessions, six training sessions, six coordination meetings, and at least five youth-led initiatives implemented; 25–30 ambassadors empowered; visual materials created; stronger emotional and leadership competencies; improved cooperation between education and community sectors.

The project will create an active youth network promoting emotional well-being and serve as a model for other schools, fostering openness, solidarity, and gender equality.
