Summary of Action

The ”Green Cities” project addresses the growing need for sustainable urban environments and the involvement of young people in environmental actions. In many cities, urban ecosystems are under threat due to pollution, lack of green spaces, and biodiversity loss. Young people, although aware of global environmental challenges, often lack the practical means to contribute to local solutions.

The goal of the project is to create green urban areas—parks, gardens, tree-lined streets, and shrubbery—tailored to the needs of each location, encouraging school-age youth to take part in the planning and implementation of these green spaces.

The project will be implemented through activities such as tree and shrub planting, flower bed creation, and the organization of seminars on the care of green spaces and the importance of urban ecosystems. These activities will take place in collaboration with schools, ensuring that youth are actively involved.

Expected results include the creation of at least 10 green zones across different city areas, with the active participation of around 200 students. Through practical involvement, young people will develop leadership skills and a deeper understanding of urban environmental challenges.
