Country: Lithuania
Timeline: From 3 February 2025 to 1 February 2026
Lead Organisation: Asociacija Madrus
Summary of Action
The project ”Keičiam” focuses on young people with fewer opportunities from Lithuania’s north-eastern region, aiming to develop critical thinking about gender equality and encourage active participation in addressing this issue. Youth facing social, economic, and educational challenges will gain knowledge and skills to identify and combat gender discrimination. Special attention is given to girls who often face stereotypes and discrimination.
Participants will not only acquire theoretical knowledge but also become leaders, promoting equality in their communities and contributing to a more just society. The project highlights the importance of understanding gender equality’s impact on personal and professional lives. It encourages young people to think critically about gender issues, both locally and globally, linking them to broader themes of sustainability and social justice.
Key activities include leadership training, mentorship, and community initiatives. The project will culminate in a conference titled ”For Change – Gender Dialogue is Important,” held in Vilnius, involving participants from various regions.
Expected outcomes: Youth will learn about gender equality and how to address discrimination. 15 young people will gain leadership skills, organizing 4 community initiatives. The final conference will gather 70 participants, including teachers, NGOs, and decision-makers. Project activities will reach over 100,000 people through social media, fostering long-term change and partnerships on gender equality.
