General information
Project name: MISIJA: Žemė
Country: Lithuania
Timeline: From 1 March 2025 to 31 January 2026
Lead Organisation: VŠĮ „Avangardo projektai“
Summary of Action
The project ”Mission: Earth” addresses the need to enhance students’ understanding of sustainability issues, particularly in Lithuania’s regional schools, where awareness of these topics is often limited. The project aims to engage students aged 12–18 in an interactive learning experience by creating a board game that covers essential environmental topics such as waste sorting, recycling, food waste management, climate change, and greenwashing.
The main objective of the project is to raise students’ awareness of global environmental challenges and encourage their active involvement in discussions about sustainable living. Through the board game, students will not only acquire theoretical knowledge but will also engage in critical thinking and problem-solving related to real-world sustainability issues.
Key activities include developing and printing 500 copies of the game, distributing them to schools across Lithuania, with a particular focus on regional schools, and creating a digital version for wider accessibility. Additionally, experts in sustainability and waste management will visit schools to introduce the game and lead discussions.
Expected outcomes include the involvement of approximately 10,000 students, an increase in knowledge and engagement with environmental issues, and the creation of a long-term educational tool that can be used in schools for years to come.
