General information

Project name: dalyvAUK globaliai: Lietuvos ir Ganos partnerystės pokyčiams
Country: Lithuania
Timeline: From 2 February 2026 to 1 February 2027
Lead Organisation: Alizavos Bendruomenės Centras

Summary of Action

The Alizava Community Center began its activities in 2003 and since then has been actively concerned with social, cultural, and educational issues of rural life, as well as improving the quality of healthy life. Insufficient awareness of community members about global challenges and limited involvement in international activities reduces opportunities to contribute to the creation of a more inclusive, equal, and sustainable society.

In order to address this problem, the project aims to promote the understanding of Alizava community members about global challenges, develop responsibility for solving community and global problems, and strengthen partnerships with other Lithuanian communities and international partners, including Ghanaian communities.

The project partners in Ghana are Madon Foundation, which provides support in the areas of education and water supply in Kojo Kuma village, and SASO Accra (Service Awareness Support Organization), a non-governmental organization near Accra that assists socially and economically vulnerable people, including children, youth, seniors, and people with disabilities, through educational, rehabilitation, intercultural exchange, and financial literacy activities.

The expected results include increased awareness of community members about global challenges, strengthened ties between the Alizava community, Lithuanian partners, and Ghanaian organizations, increased participation in community events, educational workshops, and discussions, application of the developed tools and methodologies to solve global problems, and development of cooperation and creativity among community members.

Project activities will include community involvement in evening events, thematic discussions, gender-based theatre activities, global awareness workshops with tools and educational sessions, as well as exchanges with partners in Ghana—Madon Foundation and SASO Accra.
