Summary of Action
The ongoing war in Ukraine has created significant global challenges, including threats to peace, security, and human rights. Young people in Europe, particularly in Lithuania, need to better understand the conflict’s complexities and actively engage in peace-building efforts.
This project seeks to raise awareness among youth aged 15–30 about the war in Ukraine and foster their critical understanding of peace-building and conflict resolution. The purpose of this action is to empower young people in Vilnius and the surrounding region to engage meaningfully in peace-building by increasing their knowledge of the conflict in Ukraine, promoting empathy, and inspiring them to take action.
Through a combination of documentary screenings, photo exhibitions, and interactive non-formal education (NFE) workshops, participants will critically reflect on the impacts of war and develop practical skills for peace advocacy.
The intended results include improved awareness of global conflicts among youth, enhanced critical thinking about peace-building, and the active involvement of young people in promoting peace through local and online actions.
An online awareness campaign will further extend the project’s reach by engaging a wider audience and promoting youth-led peace initiatives across social media. The project will organize 8 events in schools and youth centers, including documentary screenings, photo exhibitions, and NFE-based workshops, with 25-40 participants per event. The online campaign will amplify the message, reaching over 1,000 young people across Lithuania and the EU.
