General information
Project name: Pasaulis jaunimo akimis
Country: Lithuania
Timeline: From 2 February 2026 to 1 February 2027
Lead Organisation: Alizavos Jaunimo Centras “Alsja”
Summary of Action
Alizava town, located 16 km from the city center of Kupiškis, is a rural village in the district, bordering the municipalities of Rokiškis and Biržai. Young people in small villages often do not have the opportunity to directly get acquainted with the cultures, social, and environmental challenges of other countries, as well as a lack of engaging activities that would promote gender equality, sustainability, and global solidarity.
In Nepal and Lithuania, young people have limited opportunities to share experiences, stories, and ideas, which weakens the international culture of community and responsibility. In order to address this problem, the project aims to encourage young people in small villages in Lithuania and Nepal to actively participate in solving global problems through creative, educational, and collaborative activities, to develop competences in gender equality, sustainability, and intercultural understanding, and to strengthen youth initiatives in local communities.
During the project, young people will be involved in various activities:
- Virtual meetings with Nepali youth;
- Exchange of letters and stories;
- Exchange of educational packages;
- Educational hikes;
- Sports events dedicated to gender equality and reducing stereotypes;
- World cuisine classes on sustainable consumption and cultural understanding;
- Photo workshops to visualize stories and narratives;
- Local initiatives that young people will implement in their communities;
- Film evenings with discussions on local and global relations.
The project results will be strengthened international cooperation of young people in small villages, inclusive educational and sports activities, increased youth awareness of sustainable consumption, health and food culture, implemented local initiatives.
