Summary of Action

Voices Changing Norms is a cross-border audio project that uses sound as a medium for dialogue and social change. It aims to amplify the voices of Georgian creators and activists who challenge gender norms, promote equality, and build communities of solidarity within an increasingly polarized environment.

In Georgia, authoritarian politics and “traditional values” rhetoric are reshaping public life—restricting media freedom and putting pressure on gender and queer equality movements. In this context, the project seeks to create a space for alternative narratives, where personal stories and creative practices can speak of freedom and resilience.

Through six audio portraits, the project will explore how individuals in Georgia use art, education, and activism to transform gender roles and imagine fairer, more inclusive futures. These sound pieces will be broadcast across independent radio platforms and made freely accessible online, allowing audiences in the EU and beyond to engage with new perspectives from the region.

In parallel, a series of public listening sessions and discussions will invite Lithuanian youth to reflect on how gender roles and stereotypes shape their own societies. By turning listening into an active, reflective practice, the project promotes empathy, awareness, and a deeper understanding of global interconnections.
