Summary of Action
The “Food Literacy 2.0” project aims to amplify young people’s voices in the food system debate and create a space for co-creating knowledge, narratives, and actions towards a sustainable future.
It focuses on global education about food, climate, and social justice from youth perspectives, linking local and global views on how everyday food choices affect the planet, health, and social relationships.
The project provides a platform for young people to share their reflections, actions, and emotions around food, health, climate, and justice. It redefines food education as global, emotional, and civic, beyond just dietary topics.
It bridges everyday decisions with larger systems like food policy, markets, and climate change. Engaging participants through initiatives in schools, homes, and communities is a key focus.
Activities include creating the fourth issue of “Safe Food” magazine with students, teachers, community leaders, organizations in education, health, climate, equality, local policymakers, and European experts.
Using storytelling and participatory journalism, the project develops systems thinking and promotes global citizenship education aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 3, 11, 12).
The project will produce a “Generation Manifesto,” a collage of quotes from youth featured in the “Climate on the Plate” report and new statements from Poland and Europe.
An educational tool will also be developed to help teachers and educators run workshops engaging youth in sustainable nutrition and conscious choices.
