Summary of Action
The project aims to increase global awareness among approximately 450 students in the Jasło district, with a particular focus on helping them understand how everyday decisions – related to energy use, consumption, social interactions, and online activity – impact the environment, other people’s rights, and global circumstances.
The project also seeks to develop critical thinking skills, strengthen equality-based attitudes, and build a sense of agency so that young people feel empowered to influence the world around them.
Three main components are planned: coordination and promotion, the implementation of 36 educational and creative workshops, and evaluation.
The workshops will cover two thematic areas. The first (“Environment and energy”) will help students understand the consequences of consumerism, the principles of renewable energy, and the importance of responsible choices for the climate.
The second (“Equality, human Rights, and responsibility online”) will foster awareness of equal treatment, counteracting discrimination, and critically engaging with online content, including recognizing and responding to hate speech.
The project has the potential to generate meaningful social change – encouraging young people to see themselves as active participants in global processes who can influence the environment, social relations, and online culture through everyday choices.
Increased knowledge, empathy, responsibility, and digital skills are expected to directly support more conscious civic attitudes. As a result, schools and the local community may gain a strong foundation for further developing global, equality-focused, and pro-environmental education.
