Summary of Action
The project “Lessons for (Inter)cultural Dialogue” engages young people from Warsaw secondary schools and Youth Education Centers to critically reflect on global challenges like migration and multiculturalism. It aims to foster dialogue, peer integration, and critical thinking.
Activities include:
1. **Intercultural workshops** led by two facilitators: one with migration or refugee experience and one of Polish origin. These 16 workshops will address global processes, media narrative analysis, and dialogue skills. Programs are tailored based on teacher and class feedback through pre-workshop surveys. Each session lasts 4 school hours, delivered in one or two meetings.
2. **Zine creation workshops** following the intercultural workshops. Sixteen creative sessions, each lasting 3 school hours, will enable students to produce and distribute zines on multiculturalism and global challenges, promoting dialogue within the wider school community.
The project also involves university students from the Faculty of Education and the Institute of Polish Culture at the University of Warsaw. Two 6-hour training sessions will equip them with skills in intercultural education and project design. They will contribute to the intercultural workshop program and co-lead sessions.
The project targets groups with limited knowledge of global issues, integrates perspectives from individuals with migration experience, and emphasizes gender equality. Outcomes include increased global awareness, improved class atmosphere, and strengthened openness and collaboration in school communities.
