Summary of Action

The project aims to develop critical thinking among Ukrainian youth living in Szczecin and increase their engagement with contemporary global challenges related to fast fashion, circular economy, and responsible consumption. By combining educational activities, creative work, and social engagement, the project equips young people with tools to make informed decisions and to positively influence their communities.

The project is divided into three stages:

  1. Discovery: Participants explore the environmental and social impact of the fashion industry.
  2. Creation: Participants work with second-hand clothing, learn upcycling, sewing, and design techniques, and create educational content.
  3. Grand Show: A final performative fashion presentation combined with installations and materials highlighting global issues.

Young participants also co-decide on part of the project budget, strengthening their sense of agency and civic competences.

The project leads to meaningful change by increasing knowledge about the global consequences of fast fashion, fostering pro-environmental and equality-oriented attitudes, building creative, social, and media skills, and strengthening the integration of Ukrainian youth within the local community. As a result, participants become more aware, engaged, and socially responsible citizens and consumers.
