Summary of Action
The goal of this project was to increase the knowledge and skills of young people and teachers about global challenges in the context of the protection of human rights and to take conscious and deliberate actions in this area.
Sixteen students, eight teachers, and two mentors — all activists — took part in the project. Participants expanded their knowledge of global interdependencies using armed conflicts as examples and learned about the sources and consequences of human rights violations during wars. They developed the ability to critically analyze media messages and became aware of their impact on shaping public opinion. Through joint work on issues of justice and human rights, the young people developed attitudes of empathy, commitment, and social responsibility.
The young people put the tools and methods they learned into practice by carrying out their own actions in eight schools, promoting attitudes of tolerance and solidarity. The project also resulted in the publication of “A Recipe for Action: A Guide for Young People” created to support young people in taking action. As part of the project, an open campaign called “Banner for Peace” was organized, in which 26 schools from all over Poland expressed their opposition to the suffering of civilians during wars.
