Summary of Action

The project aims to tackle the challenges of fast fashion through educational and participatory activities to empower youth (ages 15–30), especially marginalized groups, to critically understand the environmental and social impacts of textile consumption and adopt sustainable practices. Aligned with the Connect for Global Change program, it seeks to create EU citizens — especially young people — who are active change agents for a fair, inclusive, and sustainable world.

The project uses the pyramid of engagement, guiding youth from initial awareness to active participation and becoming multipliers who share knowledge. Activities include competitions, mentor trainings, video production, and roundtables to raise awareness about fast fashion’s environmental consequences (pollution, waste, CO2) and social injustices (poor working conditions in the Global South, dumping ground for textile waste). Participants will gain practical knowledge on reducing clothing consumption, recognizing global inequalities, and making informed, sustainable choices.

The project emphasizes engagement with marginalized groups, hands-on experiences, and media literacy to maximize impact. Expected outcomes are:

  • Increased youth awareness and critical thinking.
  • Active participation in sustainable solutions.
  • Inclusion of vulnerable groups.
  • Knowledge sharing through resources for schools and youth groups.
  • Strengthening global solidarity.

This project not only supports SDGs 12, 13, and 8 but creates long-term change by equipping participants with skills and knowledge to make sustainable choices and inspire change in their communities.
