Afriška Vasfest – 9th Festival of African Cultures addresses social and cultural divisions by fostering intercultural dialogue and critical understanding of global challenges like migration, equality, and sustainability. The festival combats stereotypes and promotes inclusive community building through a dynamic cultural platform. The event celebrates African cultural heritage while building connections among local communities, migrants, and international guests.

The festival creates opportunities for creativity, dialogue, and solidarity, aiming to leave a lasting impact on mutual understanding and inclusivity. Spanning four days (June 12–15, 2025), the festival’s activities include musical performances by African and local artists, interactive workshops like drumming, dance, and mural creation, and culinary experiences featuring African cuisine prepared with migrant collaboration. Discussions and roundtables will explore themes like migration and intercultural cooperation. A special journalism initiative will involve high school students documenting the festival.

The festival expects to engage 10,000 attendees, including youth, migrants, and underrepresented groups. Anticipated outcomes include stronger intercultural dialogue, increased awareness of global challenges, and lasting contributions such as a community mural symbolizing tolerance. Empowering youth and migrants, especially women, is a central goal, fostering belonging and participation. The project builds on the organizing team’s extensive experience, partnerships with NGOs and schools, and sponsor support, ensuring a meaningful and sustainable cultural impact.
