Summary of Action

The project addresses the need for:
• greater involvement of young people and persons (young people, adults) with intellectual disabilities in active social and democratic life,
• their awareness of (global) interdependence, co-responsibility and integrity,
• reducing inequality.
We want to connect young people who will take on the role of mentors, supporters in the implementation of project activities, and these will be intended for people with intellectual disabilities (concept – learners teaching learners). The problems addressed include issues of accessibility and opportunities for learning, lack of equal opportunities for activation, the digital divide, stereotyping, and insufficient awareness of global and local social challenges.

The purpose of the project is to promote understanding and respect for differences, enable more effective inclusion of vulnerable groups in society, and strengthen participation, decision-making, co-responsibility in the design and implementation of activities that contribute to solidarity and sustainability. Activities refer to:

  • Volunteering (workshops, cleaning campaigns, collection charity campaigns, etc.)
  • Active global citizenship (workshops, establishment of a “specific” youth parliament with customized simulation of decision-making processes)
  • Digital literacy (computer workshops for vulnerable groups)
  • Environment, health, sports, and consumer habits (workshops, charity sports events, etc.)

Expected Results

  • Greater awareness and permanent changes in the critical understanding of global relations of EU citizens who have the status of a vulnerable group of persons and their activation.
  • Strengthening sustainable habits and atypical connections in the local community.
  • Strengthen the role of youth (local schoolchildren) in creating an inclusive society.
  • Promote gender equality through every activity in the project.
