Summary of Action
Instigate it! Video-Activism Incubator addresses the rise of social media algorithms and their impact on news consumption, particularly among Generation Z and Alpha. With the growth of disinformation, propaganda, and radicalisation campaigns, the project aims to equip the next generation of digital communicators with the skills needed to promote values like rule of law, freedom of speech, climate justice, and human rights.
The project will provide an incubator for civil society influencers, focusing on short-form vertical videos, podcasts, and live-streaming. Participants will be trained through intensive boot-camps in creating impactful content, complemented by workshops on global issues, citizen journalism, civic campaigns, and social advocacy. Mentorships will be provided by activist-creators from Sudan, Brazil, and Myanmar.
The project aims to produce over 80 short videos and other online video forms, reaching more than 100,000 viewers. It will empower young creatives to become socially engaged and spread awareness about critical global challenges such as inequality, sustainable development, and gender equality.
