Summary of Action

“Local Food, Global Impact” explores how everyday food choices are connected to global challenges such as inequality, climate change, and gender justice. While these connections often remain invisible, the project makes them tangible by linking local practices in Europe with the lived experiences of women in the Global South.

The initiative focuses on women as key actors within food systems. Although they play a central role in food production, preparation, and care, their knowledge is often overlooked. By bringing together women from Slovenia and Jordan, the project creates space for exchange, learning, and mutual recognition.

Through participatory workshops, dialogue sessions, and community-based activities, participants explore the impact of food systems on their daily lives and the wider world. The project follows a step-by-step engagement approach, guiding participants from awareness to deeper understanding and active involvement.

The collaboration with the Disi Women Cooperative in Jordan provides valuable insights into food production, resilience, and community-based solutions in a different context. This exchange strengthens global perspectives and highlights shared challenges and opportunities.

As a result, participants are encouraged to adopt more sustainable and responsible food practices, while some take on the role of multipliers within their communities. By building lasting partnerships and sharing practical methods, the project contributes to a more just and sustainable food system at both local and global levels.
